AM I making a mountain out of a molehill? Am I the problem? What is the use of
talking about it? Nothing is going to change..... These are the times a Psychotherapist can be of
help. If
there is someone to share your thoughts and worries, who is trustworthy, non-judgemental and
empathic, I believe you can find your way forward. Sometimes it can be enough to talk to our
loved
ones, but sometimes it feels too silly or too complicated, even to yourself. Maybe you are
coping
with all the pressures very well on the surface, but you know that you are struggling on the
inside.
That’s where my role comes in. I don’t believe in advising because I believe you are the expert
of
your life and if anybody can find solutions to your problems, it will be you. We all have the
answers
within ourselves.
Why don’t I give advice? You know that feeling of “why can’t I just do what other people say” or
“I
did what everybody said but it still doesn’t feel right.” Only when it comes from within you
will the
answer be right and feel right.
“It is the client who knows what hurts, what direction to go, what
problems are crucial,
what
experiences have been deeply buried.”Carl Rogers -Father of Person-centred
